I WALK TO REMEMBER...
In loving memory of those who have fought and lost,
In loving appreciation for those who have fought and won,
And in support of those who are still fighting...
The Memorial Hike for Hospice (or the Hike for short) is a non-competitive leisurely 5km spring-walk fundraiser supporting The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. Now in its 16th year, The Hike is one event that allows its participants to remember those in their life that have fought or are still fighting a life-altering diagnosis. The Hospice Hike has grown to a single location event, with participants coming together annually on the first Sunday in May.
The walk is a one day event created to celebrate and honor our loved ones’ memories. The Hike provides the perfect opportunity for individuals to spend quality time coming together with family and friends and appreciate a significant event that enables everyone to participate in a special way. The Memorial Hike for Hospice is also a way for individuals to give back, not only to The Hospice, but to other people in the community that will benefit from the services and programs offered by The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.
The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County recently joined The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association’s (CHPCA) National Hike for Hospice and are confident that our involvement in a national movement will only increase our chances of running an event its participants will remember and want to take part in year after year. Please visit http://www.chpca.net/Home for more information on the National Hike for Hospice.
